WIA-C & WiDS Atlantic Speed Mentoring Event

Developing Talent

Speed Mentoring Event at DEFSEC Atlantic 2019 on October 2nd

On Wednesday October 2, 2019, Women in Aerospace Canada Atlantic (WIA-C) and Women in Defence & Security (WiDS) will host the first Atlantic Speed Mentoring event. Given the spectacular success of similar events in Ottawa and London, ON in previous years, this is now considered to be one of the WiDS' signature events. In conjunction with DEFSEC, we anticipate a high concentration of industry professionals to make this a must-attend event.

Speed Mentoring provides a unique forum for those either just starting out or mid-career to engage in 15-minute conversations with talented senior leaders who represent a wide array of organizations in the aerospace, defence and security industry. While these short sessions are designed for participants to seek career advice in simple question-and-answer format, they often turn into engaging conversations. Past mentors have commented that they too view this as a valuable learning experience!

The workshop will pair mentors with 1-2 mentees at a time. There will be up to 6 rotations giving different mentees the opportunity to sit with mentors and discuss the questions they are "burning to ask". Like all WIA-C and WiDS events, this is open to both women and men.
