CARIC Connector at DEFSEC Atlantic 2019

Join us for Atlantic Canada's premier defence and aerospace innovation event on October 1, 2019.

Tuesday, October 1, 2019
10:00 am to 2:25 pm
Kenneth C. Rowe Hall in Pier 21
1055 Marginal Road, Halifax, NS

This is the only place all year where you will find everyone working in defence and aerospace innovation together in one room to make new connections, and build new strategic partnerships for the growth of Atlantic Canada.

The format is simple. The best companies and researchers from across Atlantic Canada present their expertise and the partners they seek. Each speaker has 5 minutes to showcase themselves and pitch their needs and capabilities. Afterwards, direct discussion is encouraged, and stakeholders who wish to continue the conversation are invited to network at the breaks.

Spaces to present are limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. So don't wait to register to present.

What are Key Industrial Capabilities (KICs)?

Under the current Industrial and Technological Benefits (ITB) Policy, winning bidders on defence and major Canadian Coast Guard procurements must undertake an amount of economic activity in Canada that is equivalent to the value of the contract.

In order to ensure that more of these investments continue to support the development of a globally-competitive defence and security sector, the Government of Canada has identified 16 KICs. The KICs represent areas of emerging technology with the potential for rapid growth and significant opportunities, established capabilities where Canada is globally competitive, and areas where domestic capacity is essential to national security.

Emerging Technologies
